Drury forward Hailey Diestelkamp was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week following her performance in Drury’s lone game last week.
Diestelkamp, a junior from Owensville, Missouri, led the Lady Panthers with 30 points and nine rebounds in Drury’s 92-63 win at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith on Dec. 4. Diestelkamp went 14 for 21 from the field and had four assists to go along with three steals. It marked the second straight game that she finished one rebound shy of a double-double as she was coming off of a 17-point, 9-rebound performance in 19 minutes of playing time against Missouri S&T on Dec. 1.
The award is Diestelkamp’s second such honor and the third by a Lady Panther this season. She also won the award on Nov. 19, and Paige Robinson won conference honors on Dec. 3.
The sixth-ranked Lady Panthers put their unbeaten record of 9-0 on the line again on Sunday with a road game at Nova Southeastern. Tipoff is a 1 p.m. (Central) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
