Drury freshman Paige Robinson was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women’s basketball for her performance during the week of Nov. 26-Dec. 1.
Robinson averaged 19.5 points in two games last week as the Lady Panthers went 2-0. The Bethany, Illinois native had 23 points on Thursday against Rogers State and followed that with a 16-point performance in Drury’s GLVC opener on Saturday against Missouri S&T. In the two games combined, Robinson shot 52 percent from the field going 13 for 25, she was 6 for 13 from three-point range, and 7 for 7 from the foul line. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals.
Robinson is the second Drury player to win the league’s Player of the Week honor this season. Hailey Diestelkamp won the award for the week of Nov. 12-18.
The Lady Panthers are 8-0, 1-0 in the GLVC, and ranked eighth in the latest NCAA-II coaches’ poll. Drury returns to action on Tuesday with a 5:30 p.m. road game at Arkansas-Fort Smith.
