Springfield Student Charged in Two Incidents

A 17-year-old Springfield high school student is facing charges in connection with two separate incidents.

Kalieal Airrion McKinnie is charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault.  The charges, both misdemeanors, could bring a year in jail and a $2,000 fine on each count if McKinnie is convicted.

In the first incident at Central High School, McKinnie is accused of punching a teacher after a fight with two other students.  He also allegedly pushed the assistant principal.

The police report states the teacher suffered visible injuries to the face from the punch.

McKinnie is also accused of beating another student on the playground of York Elementary that left the other student with injuries to both eyes.

McKinnie is scheduled for a court appearance on December 31.
