A 50-year-old Springfield man has been arrested in connection with alleged sexual abuse of children.
A probable cause statement says that two victims reported on November 12, 2018 that Reynato Collantes (right) inappropriately touched them over a period of several years. One victim told a Greene County Sheriff’s deputy Collantes raped her.
Collantes refused to speak with deputies about the accusations.
Collantes is in the Greene County Jail on $250,000 bond and is being considered a flight risk due to dual citizenship in the U.S. and the Philippines.
Collantes has pleaded not guilty and faces a possible life sentence if convicted. He is being represented by Shane Cantin and Erica Mynarich of Carver, Cantin & Mynarich.
