In addition to Ford’s Rebound Foundation, other organizations involved in “Marda’s House” include Springfield Community Land Trust, Harmony House, Community Partnership of the Ozarks and Victory Mission.

The home is named after Christina Ford’s mother Marda, a survivor of domestic violence.

The facility will house up to three women at a time helping them transition into being able to live independently.

Many women who are forced to flee their homes because of domestic violence face the loss of their financial stability, property and in some cases have their credit ruined by their abuser.  The non-profit groups will be working with the women to restore their needs as they begin a new life in the community.
